Thanatology is the study of death and dying. Tammy holds both a Certification of Thanatology and Fellow of Thanatology – an advanced professional certification for Thanatology Professionals. These certifications recognize years of study and hard work to become a practitioner in the discipline of death, dying and bereavement. Thanatologists are trained in death studies, death education, and grief counseling.
At this time, Tammy is private pay only. She does offer a sliding scale.

Tammy utilizes a developmental perspective and works individually with the child and with the family to help the child through the grief process. She utilizes creative techniques to help the child express himself/herself and parents or guardians are involved to help the child and family practice skill building at home
Many grieving families found comfort when Tammy created “Comfort Care Kits” that included resources and tools to assist with their grief journey and also items that encouraged conversation between family members and other members of the support system. Based on her experiences, education, and research she developed unique Comfort Kits that would be curated for age, gender, culture and would be responsive to the input from the grieving family members.
At this time we do not have a waiting list. We are taking new individuals and families.

Yes! We love our volunteers. We value them and without them some things would not be possible. All volunteers have to have a background check and go through our Volunteer Program Training. A letter for community service is available for students and adults who need them.
There is no timeline. You may call the day after the death or wait a while until you are ready. Everyone grieves differently. Some believe they can handle and balance their grief, some end up suppressing it for years and it ends up catching up with them. It is never too early or late to reach out to a professional for help and resources. We are here for you if you need us.
When you feel ready to talk, we’re here to listen. Reach out and let us support you through this difficult time with compassion and care.
