The Center for Loss and Life Transition is an organization dedicated to helping people who are grieving and those who care for them. They offer resources, education, training and referral for bereaved families and provide certification program studies for bereavement professionals.
Grieving the loss of a loved one while coping with the fear and anxiety related to the COVID-19 pandemic can be especially overwhelming. The CDC lists resources and strategies for dealing with the loss of a loved one during COVID-19, including losing a family member or friend to the virus, as well as coping with other losses or major changes due to the pandemic.
This is an excellent resource for families who have lost a child. Compassionate Friends is a self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child.
This resource is for families who have been touched by cancer. Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana provides support to those living with cancer and those grieving the death of a loved one who has died from cancer.
The Dougy Center provides information, education, referral, and support for children and families and publishes a national directory on support groups for bereaved children.
Parents of Murdered Children seeks to provide support and assistance to all survivors of homicide victims while working to create a world free of murder.
This is a great resource for families of America’s fallen heroes. From their website: Since 1994, TAPS has provided comfort and hope 24/7 through a national peer support network and connection to grief resources, all at no cost to surviving families and loved ones.

Survivor Outreach Services is part of the Army Casualty Continuum of Care. It’s designed to provide long-term support to surviving Families of Fallen Soldiers. SOS provides resources, financial counseling, and social events which provide Families an opportunity to connect with others who are grieving the loss of their service member.
